Eli Dijkers
Eli Dijkers (1978) is geboren en getogen in Nederland. Hij studeerde in 2012 af aan de Academie voor Fotografie in Rotterdam, na zijn doctoraat in de farmacie, nucleaire geneeskunde en oncologie. Sindsdien heeft hij vele erkenningen ontvangen voor zijn fotografische werk, waaronder meerdere eervolle vermeldingen bij de Black & White Spider Awards, de aanbevolen fotograaf bij de Sony World Photography Awards en verschillende eervolle vermeldingen bij de Monochrome awards.Hij won de Porta Coeli Artist Residency Award tijdens de XIe editie van de International Contemporary Art Biennale van Florence en ontving Ilford MASTER in 2018, samen met Sebastião Salgado.
Eli studeerde af aan de academie voor fotografie met zijn interpretatie van de stad waarin hij woont, Rotterdam, getiteld Temporal Existence. Na zijn afstuderen was hij een op de twaalf fotografen die werd geselecteerd om de stad Rotterdam te documenteren.
Daarnaast is hij auteur van het zelf-uitgegeven boek Enigma, een confronterende reeks beelden over het dagelijks leven in de straten van India.
Het werk van Eli is uitgebreid geëxposeerd in binnen- en buitenland. Zijn eerste solotentoonstelling in galerie Deelen Art, werd samengesteld door Sun Hee Engelstoft, destijds redacteur van Magnum-fotograaf Jacob Aue Sobol. In 2018 werd zijn werk aan China getoond als een solo-tentoonstelling gedurende zes opeenvolgende maanden in de Kunsthal (museum voor hedendaagse kunst) in Rotterdam.
Daarnaast is zijn werk tentoongesteld in Italië, Griekenland, het Verenigd Koninkrijk, Denemarken en Frankrijk. Zijn werk wordt onder meer vertegenwoordigd door Gallery Deelen Art.
